Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. A breast implant is a silicone shell filled with either silicone gel or a salt-water solution known as saline. Dr. Hosn typically places the implants behind the muscle. Incision sites are most commonly around the areola or in the breast fold.

Are you a candidate for breast augmentation?

The best candidates for breast augmentation are women who are looking for improvement in the way they look:

• Enhance breasts that are considered too small.
• Replace what was lost after pregnancy.  
• Improve a mismatch in size.
• Reconstruction after breast cancer surgery.

If you're physically healthy and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate.

Planning your consultation

In your initial consultation, Dr. Hosn will spend the time you need to define your goals, perform a complete examination and make recommendations pertaining to possible surgical procedures that may benefit you. Our office is committed to educating you on the risks, benefits, and alternatives of this procedure. The typical patient will meet with Dr. Hosn three times before each major medical procedure in an effort to achieve a beautiful result performed as safely as possible. This is especially important for breast surgery to help define your expectations of your desired breast size and shape.
